Oranges and Lemons

"You owe me five farthings say the bells of St. Martin's"

Our office at The Old Rectory is on the site of the church of St. Martin Orgar mentioned in the traditional ryhme "Oranges and Lemons" and destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666.  "You owe me five farthings" refers to the money lenders who traded nearby.

Stafford Young Jones was pleased to sponsor the live premiere of Benjamin Till's Oranges and Lemons featuring the City bells mentioned in the rhyme.
