Karen graduated in law in 1986 and, after a spell in a central London law firm, completed her professional exams in 1991.  Thereafter she joined Stafford Young Jones as a trainee and spent two happy years with the firm.

After qualifying as a solicitor in 1993, Karen worked for nine years with a firm of Solicitors in Holborn, specialising in litigation and family work.  In 2003 she left to head up the Family Department of a firm in Essex.  She was delighted to re-join Stafford Young Jones in January 2005 and became a partner in the Firm on 01 April 2008. 

Karen is head of the firm's Family Department and is a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors' Family Law Association).  She trained as a collaborative family lawyer in January 2008 and, as a divorced parent herself, is firmly committed to the conciliatory approach advocated by both Resolution and the collaborative law process. 

In addition to family law she continues to work on general litigation and employment law matters.
